Slow Food Nation

Yesterday I helped my friend set up a booth at Slow Food Nation .
The architecture firm that she works for is doing the coffee and tea booth and they came up with the idea of using recycled chairs to create a base for the coffee bar. The chairs are all tied together with twine and lots of the chairs are different colors and many of them are vintage library chairs. It all was pretty amazing.

The "before" pic of the mahogany chair

Good lines on the chair but scary fabric. Under the fabric was some bent plywood ... so Josh replaced it with the reclaimed mahogany. A few posts down shows the finished chairs.

Oak Office Chair

This chair was rotting outside Josh's studio for at least a year.

The legs still have to be oiled to finish off the chair but here it is. What I think it needs is cool pillow and some one to sit in it. I imagine that it could get pretty comfy because it has a big old seat.

I was thinking that the pillow that is on the yellow chair might work on the office chair. It is a pillow from our personal collection and we purchased it at an antique store in Asheville, NC. It has interesting shapes and a perfect mix of bold, primary colors.
